    The value of fear

Do you have debt? If so how does it make you feel? Do you think about it at all, or are you avoiding it at all costs? We all tend to avoid things that make us uncomfortable. It’s human nature to try and save ourselves from discomfort. From an evolutionary standpoint it makes a ton of sense not to seek out things that cause us fear or pain. Why are you careful when you are at the top of a ladder? Probably, because you’ve fallen before and you know that it hurts. Hopefully it w

    Point in time thinking

I read an interesting article on LinkedIn this morning (#MoneyWiseGirls). It was about teaching young women and girls personal finance topics so that they had the same level of knowledge as their male counterparts. I started doing research into credit counselling and bankruptcy but freaked out on what that might look like for the long term on my credit score. In my research I ended up finding a few fantastic websites filled with really specific re

    Where do we start?

Welcome to Positive Net Worth! I am starting this because.... I want to help women get out of debt and gain control of their relationship with money. I've spent most of my career in finance and adult education. After some recent big life changes I decided to retire from working in corporate finance. Last year I was working with an executive coach when she asked me a critical question that made me reevaluate what I was doing with my life. She asked me who I was helping. Who wa
